James — Uncontrollable Man Up Volume 5 Felice Stevens Books

The remarkable thing about this book is that Felice Stevens has taken two utterly unsympathetic and emotionally crippled individuals in James and Malcolm and nurtured them through a plot and nascent romance that is the ultimate definition of the phrase "it's complicated."

I spent a good deal of time wondering whom I disliked most in the first half of the book--James, who was pounded down by revenge, hatred and distrust, or Malcolm, who was seriously negligent in disclosing his physical issue with his best friend Rhodes, who is James' paternal half-brother. In fact, it took me a while to keep going here because somehow I knew that Ms. Stevens would pull them out of their asinine funks.

And she did, with her usual twists and turns and sometimes illogical but totally appropriate happenstances.

What helped is that she brings in virtually all the characters who wandered through the three previous books in the series--not that they could help with the ultimate dilemma of James and Malcolm's two-decades-long and hidden deep lust for each other. That was Lola's job, and thank goodness for that. (Lola, you ask? Read the book.)

Loved this one eventually as much as the rest of the series, and the rest of the works of an exceptionally talented writer who has never failed to deliver.

James — Uncontrollable Man Up Volume 5 Felice Stevens Books Reviews

The love between James and Malcolm was always there, but they were to blind to see or admit it. I'm happy for both of them, really happy. I'm ready for the next book in the series, to see who finds love next.
I have always felt love and hate are close to each other. If you use all that energy to hate someone then you must care a great deal to that person. This is what this wonderful story is about and I enjoyed every word of this sexy story.
This author has such developed story lines and such a full reading experience. Love the characters, time spent in fleshing out the whole book. It is well worth the purchase price, hours reading and a few tears! Thanks so much!
This story broke me so many times....I loved Mal, but I was so scared for him and his stupid behavior. James was so broken I didn’t think there was any coming back from that. Every time the two were together is was complete disaster. It’s funny how someone you hate so much can be so important. Highly recommend this book and series. Hope to get a story about Gus soon.
I have been in love with this series since we met Austin. From the start, this series has grabbed me and no one more so than James. Throughout we got glimpses about who James was and who he may be. There was always a mysteriousness surrounding James that always stuck with me.

We didn’t know much about Mal, other than James despised him and Mal antagonized James at every opportunity. We certainly didn’t know Mal is carrying his own secret that no one knows, not even Rhoades. The push and pull of James and Mal finding each other was so captivating. James’ secrets and resentments kept him so closed off from the only family he had. Mal kept pushing James to let go of his past and live for the now and leave old resentments and hurts behind. This enemies to lovers and slow burn was just perfect for these two.

I feel in every great story there is a quote that resonates with you, perhaps it brings the tears, the tummy drop or makes you swoon. In James, this is what really stuck with me “You. That it was you. Always you.” Swoon!

I couldn’t have loved James’s story more. Amazing series, fantastic characters and James and Mal’s story was just perfection.
One of the added benefits of reading a series is the emerging attraction and interest in the supporting characters on the sidelines. There are glimpses as they begin to exhibit stronger and clearer personalities. Then when these characters are front and center, the reader knows a little of their ways and what they show to the world at large and is eager to walk with them to hear their own stories. This is the setting for JAMES – UNCONTROLLABLE.
James Rutledge the cold, complex, and mysterious owner of the Man Up club, is the long estranged brother of successful property developer Rhoades Mc McKenzie. Rhoades’ oldest and best friend Malcolm Mc Habe is the egotistical, wealthy play boy whose hobby when he is in New York to provoke and devil James.
James fights an unwelcome attraction to Malcolm who is convinced there is an undeniable fascination between them. These men hold secrets and James is determined to keep Malcolm at a distance. Malcolm is determined to explore the sensual appeal of James.
Reading JAMES – UNCONTROLLABLE, was a treat as I relished the answers to questions and connected with characters from the entire Man Up series. Page by page to see hate and animosity from James turn into an exploration of possibilities with Malcolm made this a must read to complete the Man Up stories in the very best way.
I *really* love this series, there's something about the characters that resonates with me. James particularly, with his walls & history just screamed for the need for someone to take control and claim an #HEA with him & in Malcolm, finally, the chance is there.

I adored this book, Ioved the push/pull full-on angst and denial between the MCs. The UST is palpable and when the storm between then finally breaks, holy dynamite, Batman!

If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend you go back to book 1, 'Austin', and work your way through the previous books, you'll appreciate everything that breaks between James & Malcolm in their book and be cheering for their inevitable love match.
